From 2014 until today, these names have rung loudly through the depths of the black community. Now on an international stage these names are being said loudly by the voices of many. We are at a unique time in history that now more than ever it is important for us to use our platforms to speak up as a culture and a community to denounce racism and injustice. As a company Mint is committed to using our platform in a way to amplify the voices that are fighting for the lives and humanity of the black community. As our platform is ready to continue to take on this role, we ask each of you to think about the sound of your voice. What note will you as an individual sing out to create a harmony within this revolution? Every single person has an opportunity to find their note which is their role in this revolution. Paraphrasing the roles that were so eloquently defined by Deepa Iyer of the @buildingmovementproject, there are many notes to sing:
Weavers: Connect people, places, ideas, and movements.
Experimenters: Innovate and invent new solutions.
Frontline-Responders: Organize people and resources on the ground.
Visionaries: Dream and remind us of our ultimate goals.
Builders: Develop the ideas and and visions created.
Caregivers: Nurture, create, and sustain the joy care of the community.
Disruptors: Take risks that shake the foundations of the systems.
Healers: Tend to the mental health trauma caused by generations of oppression.
Storytellers: Craft and share the stories of our community across all mediums.
Guides: Teach and counsel from their natural discernment and experiences.
So whatever your role is–whatever note you can add to the harmony of this revolution, find it and sing it loudly because THE TIME IS NOW!
